Annie Leibovitz sagte einmal: „Ich fotografiere, weil ich nicht anders kann.“ Das trifft es genau. Die Kamera ist für mich ein verlängertes Sinnesorgan – mit ihr halte ich fest, was mich bewegt. Das Herzklopfen, die feuchten Hände beim Betrachten eines gelungenen Bildes – sie sind der Lohn für diese Leidenschaft. Denn wenn ein Bild stimmig ist, in sich ruht, zum Schmunzeln anregt oder einfach nur inspiriert, dann ist es mehr als nur ein Foto – es ist ein Gefühl.

Auch das scheinbar Unscheinbare – eine Tüte auf dem Gehweg, ein Blick, ein Schatten – kann zum erzählenswerten Sujet werden. Es sind oft die kleinen Dinge, die große Emotionen wecken.

So großartig KI-generierte Bilder auch sein mögen – sie werden niemals Herzklopfen fühlen oder feuchte Hände bekommen. Sie kennen weder Geduld noch Vorfreude, weder Zweifel noch Begeisterung. Denn 0 und 1 können nicht Menschsein.

Photography, to me, is more than a craft – it’s an expression of seeing, feeling, and sharing. Every image tells a story that is not only visible but also tangible. I seek out moments where shapes, colors, connections, and emotions come together – often hidden to others, but already vivid in my mind.

As Annie Leibovitz once said: “I photograph because I can't help it.” That hits the nail on the head. The camera becomes an extension of my senses – helping me capture what moves me. The racing heart, the clammy hands when looking at a perfect image – they are the reward for this passion. When a picture is in harmony, evokes a smile, or simply inspires – then it's more than just a photo. It's a feeling.

Even the seemingly trivial – a bag on the pavement, a glance, a shadow – can become a worthy subject. It's often the little things that awaken the deepest emotions.

As remarkable as AI-generated images may be, they will never know the thrill of a racing heart or the nervous excitement of capturing the perfect shot. They don’t know patience, anticipation, doubt, or joy. Because zeros and ones can’t be human.
